[RESCHEDULED] Due to the weekend weather forecast, the Bridge Builders Breakfast has been rescheduled to Sat. February 28th, 9AM, Shreveport Convention Center.

The North Louisiana Civil Rights Coalition 3rd Annual Bridge Builders Breakfast is proud to recognize individuals who embody the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., making a difference across racial, social, civic, economic, and geographic barriers for the betterment of our community.
The 2026 Bridge Builders Award honorees are: Ms. Omari Ho-Sang, Ms. K.C. Kilpatrick, Dr. Martin Lemelle, Mr. Marion Marks, Dr. Mary Nash-Robinson, District Attorney James Stewart, Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor, and Christo Wells-Lancaster. The guest speaker is community leader Dr. R. Timothy Jones, Pastor of Peaceful Rest Baptist Church.

The Krewe of Harambee’s Annual MLK Day Parade kicks off at 1 PM in Downtown Shreveport!

😁The Krewe of Harambee Parade rolls Monday, January 19, 2026 at 1pm.

Parade Route:
• Begins at Milam Street & Common Street heading east
• Turns north onto Edwards Street
• Then turns west onto Texas Street
• When it reaches Common Street, the parade will jog north to Sprague Street
• Parade ends at Douglas Street

Important Safety Notice:
The entire parade route will be fully closed to traffic starting at 12:00 p.m. (noon) to keep our community safe while we celebrate.
So grab your lawn chairs, your krewe, and your Carnival spirit — and meet us on the route as we kick off Mardi Gras season the right way!
