Hello, Neighbors. God bless you during this Harvest-time season.

I just wanted to reach out and thank each of you for all we have been involved with together over the past two decades. There’s no limit in God and there is no limit in what He can produce through our lives together, but it does mean some will have to lead and others will have to follow and help support the cause of continuing to grow in love together.

With that said, I and many neighbors just left a funeral of a precious neighbor we hold dear. In the light of her passing and the recent home fires and just life in general, moving forward as our kids grow-up and out or personal tragedies or sufferings occupy us individually, I do want to still make the case for community connectivity and encourage many of you to continue to gather and enjoy one another’s company.

As for planned events, this time of year for the last two decades, we’ve enjoyed Block Parties to no end and the enjoyment of Fall being upon us. At the funeral, I saw our Vice President of the STPOA and asked him if the board was planning to supply the residents with a Residential Directory. He said “no” they were hoping a group of neighbors would rise up and do it.

As I launch into a new season of my life, I wanted to encourage the next generation of anyone willing to give or serve in our Southern Trace community. Upon closing the chapter of my service to lead, I’ve rolled out there a few visions that can/may or eventually will come to fruition, but I would like to make clear to others, It won’t be by the hands of few, but by the building of many.

We can be all we want to be in Southern Trace.

There is a Directory that’s already built, just couldn’t get the support of the STPOA to pay for it, but I did raise money during a Spring Walk we had, so could fit the bill from that effort once again. Also, there are a few volunteers willing to coordinate it and the back gate STPOA may be willing (if asked) to contribute, but this is all in the hands of willing volunteers coming together to get the job done.

I enjoyed seeing many neighbors at Christi Breightaupt’s home going today. One neighbor just asked me about the Community Garden and that’s what spurred this correspondence on.

A Community Garden has been laid out on paper as a general direction of what could be. Swepco has agreed to work with us on not having obstructions in their way in case of service or maintenance of lines, but the land will have to be developed much like the park did at the back gate.

This took countless hours, financial contributions and team work.

If anyone is up to looking into that in the future. They’ll need to coordinate a team, like a Garden Club to generate ideas and a plan going forward.

Wonderful Thanksgiving charity drives happened over the past several years with Goodwill Industries, these too are still possible. However, don’t expect to see them if no one takes up the cause and leads it forward.

To my knowledge, the heart of the Neighbors who have coordinated our Christmas Charity drive to Cedar Grove for years is still in place for the less fortunate, but asking someone to continue to lead this long is allot, so this too is a reason for my correspondence.

God bless each and every one of you! We have loved living in Southern Trace with you.

We also have a non-profit organization called S.T. Loves, Inc. that can continuously be given too and nurtured by anyone willing to sacrifice their time and talent to serve and steward the collective good in a neighborhood of people such as ours.

I am willing to connect a team of people who respond by email to me [email protected] or text 318-272-2203, but do not foresee my service of leadership being a mainstay any further as I am called to our city and want to run full throttle in God’s hopes and dreams of turning Shreveport around for His glory.

God bless you! Love y’all so much! Stay connected. Stay committed. Stay together. We have built some beautiful bridges in the past, which have really Blessed our Children in Judeo-Christian centered, Patriotic foundational fun. My hope is to see it continue as willing families continue to see the need for our creative collective effort moving forward.

God bless you.

This is your neighborhood, I encourage you forward.

Love,

Paige Hoffpauir
