Please be advised that the Red Shield Youth Center will be closed on Friday, June 19th, in observance of Juneteenth. We will resume normal operations on Monday, June 22nd, at 7:30 a.m.

This past Friday, we were blessed to have the crew sponsor and build a berry garden for our youth center members and our neighbors! We cannot wait for the delicious berries to bloom!

The Red Shield Youth Center in Shreveport provides a structured environment where students achieve significant academic growth and prepare for their future careers. Recent data shows that participants in our test preparation program increased their ASVAB scores by an average of 22.5 points.

We are incredibly proud to announce the results for students who completed our specialized test-prep program. ​By fostering a space where young people can learn and thrive, our center has helped these individuals reach new academic heights. This 22.5-point average increase is a testament to their dedication and hard work.

​This milestone marks a significant step for high school students and their families who are focused on long-term goals like college or military service. We want to extend a special salute to those who are currently serving and to our future American heroes who are just beginning their journey. ​The Salvation Army continues to support these young people as they grow socially and spiritually through our mentorship programs
