Tamika Hayden currently serves as Co-Chair for Community Outreach for YPI and is an advocate, leader, mentor, and community champion whose work has made a lasting impact on youth and families in the Shreveport community and beyond. She was recently recognized by the Shreveport Mayor’s Women’s Commission for her dedication to service and exemplary leadership. A committed servant leader, Tamika is a 2025 Roy Griggs 50 Under 50 Award recipient and a Class of 2023 Young Professionals Initiative 40 Under Forty honoree, distinctions that reflect her passion for community engagement, mentorship, and empowerment. Tamika is the proud founder of Destined for Greatness Dance and Leadership Development, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to mentoring and empowering young girls through dance, leadership training, and personal development. Through this work, she creates safe, inspiring spaces where girls can build confidence, discipline, character, and leadership skills while discovering their full potential.
Driven by purpose and guided by service, Tamika continues to uplift, inspire, and lead using her voice, vision, and experience to help shape the next generation of confident, capable young leaders. A lifelong learner, Tamika’s educational journey reflects her commitment to growth and excellence. She earned two associate degrees from Southern University at Shreveport, a bachelor’s degree from Wiley College, and a master’s degree from Grambling State University. She is also a certified etiquette consultant, using her knowledge to help young women build confidence, professionalism, and self-awareness. Her passion for education continues to inspire others to pursue their goals with purpose and determination.
Family is at the heart of who Tamika is. She is the youngest daughter of William and Linda Hayden and the sister of Sherrea’. Her greatest joy is being the proud mother of Tra’vion Hayden, who motivates her daily to lead with authenticity, integrity, and purpose. Deeply rooted in the Shreveport community, Tamika has served with numerous local organizations, consistently seeking meaningful ways to give back and uplift others. Through Destined for Greatness, she helps young women discover their gifts, build self-esteem, and step boldly into their futures as confident leaders.
