The Shreveport Bar Association Women's Section is looking for two equally dynamic ladies for the section's open positions of Treasurer and Secretary.

Please note that the terms for these positions are both two (2) years.

Female members of the SBA are then welcome to cast a vote for the next Treasurer and Secretary at the upcoming Women's Section Christmas Cocktails and Convo at Wine Country Bistro on December, 22, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. Members will also have an opportunity to meet the incoming President, Jabrina Clayton Edwards, and Vice-President, A Brown Priestley.

The Shreveport Bar Foundation and the Shreveport Bar Association are coordinating efforts to provide assistance across South Louisiana to get money and help quickly to affected attorneys and their staff members where it’s needed the most.

Several law firms have been flooded, and countless attorneys and their staff members have been displaced from their destroyed homes. As the water continues to drain away in flooded areas, families are returning to flood ravaged homes We are committed to do all we can to help our legal community that is suffering.

Currently, the greatest need is a financial one, as families need financial help to begin the recovery and rebuilding efforts. We have several ways you can help people.

Disaster Fund to Aid Flood-Impacted Attorneys Across South Louisiana:

In response to recent flooding in South Louisiana, the Baton Rouge Bar Association Foundation has established a Disaster Fund to assist all Louisiana attorneys whose offices and homes have been flooded. The Disaster Fund will provide much-needed grants to Louisiana lawyers to assist them in the aftermath of the historic August 2016 flooding.

Your tax-deductible donation will help impacted Louisiana lawyers who live and/or practice in one of the parishes qualifying for federal assistance as a result of the August flooding.

A broad-based committee of lawyers from South Louisiana will review the applications and make decisions regarding grants.
