We were honored to spend the afternoon at LSUS for a private tour of the remarkable James Smith Noel Collection.

Our sincere thanks to Martha Lawler, Delton Smith and Allison Cate for welcoming members of the Byrd community and sharing this incredible collection with us.

We are especially grateful to the Noel Foundation for its generous $250,000 gift to Jacket Pride’s “Be the Legacy” campaign. This extraordinary investment in C.E. Byrd will help make the new athletics field house a reality and will have a lasting impact on generations of Yellow Jackets.

Thank you to the Noel Foundation for its hospitality, generosity, and belief in the future of C.E. Byrd.

Be the Legacy.

Who belongs in the next class? 🏆

For generations, C.E. Byrd athletes, coaches and supporters have helped build a proud athletic tradition in The City.

Some set records. Some won championships. Some built programs. And some are still the names we talk about years later.

Now we need your help making sure those Yellow Jackets are remembered.

Nominations are open for the C.E. Byrd Letterman’s Hall of Fame in three categories:

🏅 Athletes
📋 Coaches
💜 Contributors

Nominations close January 1, 2027.

Think back through the years: Who deserves consideration for the next Hall of Fame class?

Drop a name and graduation year in the comments, tag someone who should be nominated, or send this post to the person who knows Byrd athletics better than anyone.

⛳️ A big thank you to another group of sponsors helping make this year’s Byrd Alumni Golf Tournament possible.

The support from our alumni and community partners continues to make this event bigger and better each year, and we appreciate everyone helping us build another great tournament.

We’re getting close to tournament day and are starting to finalize teams and pairings as spots continue to fill.

🍻 Don’t forget — all golfers are invited to the Awards Ceremony and After Party at Marilynn’s Place immediately following the tournament, with the first b**r on the house.

⛳️ If you’re planning to play, now is the time to get your team registered.
