Warming Centers
Open in the Shreveport-Bossier area as of late January 2026 due to cold weather.
Key locations include The
Highland Center (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Morning Star (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Bossier Parish locations include the Viking Drive Substation, Louisiana Downs, and Shady Grove Recreation Center.
Shreveport/Caddo Parish Warming Centers
The Highland Center: 520 Olive St, Shreveport (Open Saturday–Monday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., offers coats/blankets).
Morning Star: Open Sunday and Monday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m..
SPAR Recreation Centers: Various locations, including Bilberry Park (1902 Alabama) and Airport Park (6500 Kennedy Drive), typically open 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. during winter events.
Bossier City/Parish Warming Centers
Viking Drive Substation: 2510 Viking Drive.
Louisiana Downs: 8000 East Texas Street.
Shady Grove Recreation Center: 3949 Wayne Street.
Stonewall Baptist Church: 807 Eatman St.
Re-entry Building: 181 McCauley Drive, Plain Dealing.
