Always such an honor to be asked to present at the South Central U.S. Human Trafficking Conference! It is such a wonderful opportunity to hear from so many professionals about human trafficking and the work that is being done in our community. Just one more reason that I am so grateful to Gingerbread House for giving me so much knowledge and experience in working with survivors of trauma and human trafficking. And a big thank you to Laurie McGeehee & the Free Coalition who took me under her wing when I first started out and has continued to find value in the work that I do!
I presented on a topic that means a lot to me that explores why we have to ask deeper questions than, “why didn’t they just leave?” Every year, I love presenting about understanding psychological coercion & how healing from these coercive control situations is so powerful. I don’t take lightly that people are willing to hear and learn from me & Im so thankful to get to share something so important to me. 💙
