The Academy for the Arts seeks to teach & train students of all ages in performing and visual arts.

The Academy for the Arts at First Baptist Church of Shreveport seeks to teach and train students of all ages in music, dance, theater, and the visual arts. We believe talent in any form is a gift from God that can be developed and improved with practice and training. To the end we offer lessons in vocal and instrumental music, and we offer regular and exciting opportunities for performance. The Ac

ademy adheres to the scripture found in Colossians 3:16; Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we will be adding harmonica to our list of instruments that we teach here at AFTA!

We are now enrolling for our Spring 2026 Middle & High School Drama class!

🎭 Open to all students 6th-12th grades who are interested in acting!

🎭 Just $25/week!

🎭 Classes take place 4:30-5:30 on Tuesdays at 543 Ockley Drive in Shreveport!

Every studio will have a winner! All you have to do is practice, then log your practice in MyMusicStaff. The student in each studio who has the most practice time logged at the end of the month will win!
