WHO IS ALEMAP?
The evolution of Alemap Foundation began in 2001 with the awarding of a grant to provide LUPUS information to patients in various cities throughout the state of Louisiana. From there Alemap has funded various educational initiatives with the backing from state and federal grants as well as private sectors. A few of these programs include The B.A.R.T. Program (Becoming a Responsible Teen), Freedom School and 21st CCLC. Over the past 10 years Alemap's primary focus has been on the academic success of Caddo and Bossier Parish students in grades K - 12th.
Alemap Foundation's goals and objectives focus on servicing the educational needs of at-risk and bilingual students and their families. The ultimate goals are: to provide academic after-school tutoring services utilizing regular day school teachers located at the school site, to provide Saturday academy sessions to expose students to athletic, academic, social, cultural and technological opportunities, to provide educational, job related, and health services for parents and family members, and to provide additional communication services such as translators and ESLA (English as a Second Language) classes for non-English speaking students and family members.
The mission of Alemap Foundation is to transform at-risk and bilingual students into successful academic, technological, and socially enriched students by meeting the fundamental, cultural, athletic and cultural needs of each student and their families by utilizing various resources provided by community partnerships and other funding opportunities to address their Basic Needs, Psychological Needs and Self-Fulfillment Needs within the scope of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
