This original documentary brings into view a man who became one of the most significant figures in Shreveport, in Louisiana and beyond during his lifetime—and whose impact remains today.
Personal, spiritual and historical, “The Prophetic Voice of E. Edward Jones, Sr.” explores a life rooted in faith, courage, service and an abiding love for people.

We are continuing with our Simple Day of Service in memory of our beloved patriarch. He was a very kind man but his buttons could be pushed sometimes😂! However…he was always “ready for reconciliation.”

Back to the point, it is not too late to do something kind for someone else.

-Before the day is over, take a moment to serve somebody — -buy a meal, check on an elder, encourage a young person, support a local business, help a neighbor, pray with someone, or simply show kindness where it is needed.

This day is not about doing something large. It is about remembering with action.

Rev. Jones believed people were worth the investment. Today, we are honoring that witness by investing a little time, love, and service in somebody else.

For the love of Shreveport, for the love of the people — serve somebody today.

Pictured here are members of the Jones family, clergy, civic leaders, friends, and supporters who stood with us as we marked the first public remembrance around the anniversary of Reverend Dr. E. Edward Jones, Sr.’s passing.

This year marked a first for the Jones family.

Over the years, Reverend Jones’s accomplishments, ministry, leadership, and impact have been spoken of publicly many times. But this year, the family came together in a public way around the anniversary of his passing.

That is different.

This was not simply about naming what he did. It was about remembering who he was, what his loss has meant, what his life still means, and what we are called to do with what he left us.

Thank you to everyone who participated, spoke, stood with us, and shared memories, research, reflections, and encouragement. What was shared was heartfelt and deeply appreciated.

We look forward to a series of meaningful events this month as we continue celebrating and remembering the life, ministry, movement, and moral vision of Reverend Dr. E. Edward Jones, Sr.

We remember with love and thanksgiving, and we go forward in service.
