We had a nice evening at Ralph & Kacoo's " The Seafood Restaurant" during our annual scholarship presentation banquet. Alex Wallace from LSUS is the recipient of the 2018 Kerry Garland Memorial Scholarship and Cooper Adams from the University of Texas at Tyler is the recipient of the 2018 Orland Dodson Memorial Scholarship.

The SJF folk had a wonderful time at the Shreveport Aquarium. The tour was excellently conducted by our new friend, Mary Landers. We had 5 LSUS students that came out to meet us and tour the new aquarium. The food at SALT was great. We sure hope that you spread the word - membership in SJF can be a LOT OF FUN!😀

2017 Professional Development Conference

CommNEXT is an event where students and professionals have the opportunity to learn more about the communications and digital media fields from industry experts!

Topics at this year’s event will include PR campaigns, fake news, freelancing, design thinking, social design, video campaigns, using social media in journalism and PR, and more! CommNEXT brings together students and professionals for an inspirational educational experience like none other!

The cost is $25/person. Box lunch is provided.
