Hello and welcome to everyone we met at Artbreak this year!
We want to start by saying thank you to the numerous people that stopped and had a conversation with us about this fun-filled hobby. We know it was a busy weekend for everyone, so we are excited that you found us!
So, what is this medieval thing?
This is the SCA or the Society of Creative Anachronism. We are a worldwide non-profit that studies, dresses, draws, sings, feasts, and of course fights as if it's the middle ages. But we don't limit ourselves to "just" medieval things. We recreate history from the ancient Egyptians to the Romans all the way to the start of the reign of Queen Elizabeth the first. If it happened in history, we look to explore it through recreating and living it.
The SCA is a place for all ages with youth activities from chivalric fighting to bardic arts to sewing and beyond, if the adults can learn it and live it, so can the kids.
We encourage you to check out more information on the offerings for both adults and youth at

Here, you can find your local group and how to get in touch. You can also join our community page for more information on our weekly local meet-ups and upcoming events at https://facebook.com/groups/301178219171/
We are the Shire of Ardanroe, located in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA. We are part of the kingdom of Gleann Abhann, which encompasses all of Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and parts of Tennessee. If you are interested in finding out more about the wider kingdom as well as learn about the rules and requirements to do combat, arts and science or youth involvement please visit us at gleannabhann.net.
We look forward to seeing you soon and thank you for taking the time to check us out!
