It all started with the word “believe.”
You must believe you’re a Giant to be a Giant. You must dream beyond your area code. 318. To walk as a Giant you must believe you can conquer the world and overcome obstacles. You must believe you are a Giant. It isn’t easy to knock down invisible walls that surround our community. The walls that define the median family income of $39,285. The walls of low-
income dilapidated homes. The walls of crime rates perceived or actualized, deter the best and brightest to enter our neighborhoods and to remain in their neighborhood schools. The walls of underperforming schools, at the elementary, middle and high school levels, demand us to do better. The walls of “food insecurity” where the words “whole foods” mean something different than it does on the other side of town. Yet, as Giants we prevail. We believe. However, we need your help. We are a people with a proud past and pride in the Giants that have knocked down the invisible walls to become successful and productive citizens around the world. Teachers, doctors, engineers, lawyers… However, NOW, we need your help. We need you to care about so many students, so many children, that are being left behind in our community, due to a lack of educational resources, school support, and community outreach. We are at times held back by our own mindsets that are “set” in what is visible through the invisible barriers. We need your help. We are asking for your financial support as we seek to knock down the visible and invisible walls that can be obstacles for our students. We want to provide them with scholarship opportunities, increase school support with programs/resources, and be a presence in the community with community outreach opportunities. As a nonprofit, C.A.R.E, knows that you care!
