Living on Mission
John 4:35 (NIV®)
“I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.”
I’m often approached by people who are sincerely wondering what they should be doing for God. They don’t feel called to go to another part of the world, start a ministry, or take on some monumental task. I don’t think most people realize there are mission fields ripe for the harvest all around them. The fields are all around us—family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. There’s no need to travel. God has strategically placed us right where we are to be His ambassadors. If God is inviting you to move to another country, start a ministry, or tackle something big, by all means do it. Until then, look around and see the fields where you are already standing. I think you’ll find they are just waiting to be harvested.
THINK ABOUT IT
In all the places you go, consider what you can do to bring hope and encouragement to the people you meet. Make a point to show them God’s love and share His truth with them. It will make a difference.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your gracious invitations for my life. Please forgive me for when I have said no or chosen my own way. I accept my assignment as an ambassador for Your Kingdom. Give me wisdom, boldness, and courage to honor You with every aspect of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
