We're looking for vendors for our next event: August 8th from 12-2pm.

We aim to create an engaging, family-centered environment where parents and caregivers can connect with local organizations, receive educational materials, access resources, and learn about services that support healthier families and stronger communities. We are hoping to include a variety of informational and interactive stations focused on topics such as:

-Breastfeeding support and education
-Safe sleep practices and car seat safety/installation
-Health screenings and referrals
-Mental health and wellness resources
-Addiction/Recovery Services
-Nutrition and healthy living
-Postpartum care and doula support
-Early childhood development and parenting resources
-Disability services and resources

Our goal is to help strengthen neighborhood resiliency by ensuring families have access to trusted information, supportive services, and meaningful community connections. If you feel like you may be a good fit and want to bring educational materials, provide screenings, giveaways, referral information, demonstrations, or hands-on activities that would benefit parents and children in our community, please reach out to us at [email protected]

We are stronger together!

Period Poverty is real—and it’s happening right here in our community.

Too many women and girls are forced to choose between buying groceries or buying period products. Others miss school or work simply because they don’t have what they need.

At Basic Necessities, we believe dignity is not a luxury—it’s a basic need.

This , you can help change that.
đź’ś $1 = 50 period products
đź’ś Every donation helps someone show up with confidence

Join us in breaking the stigma and meeting a need that too often goes unseen.

We just want to show appreciation for all of our community supporters, including those who contributed to the Give for Good Campaign this year.

We raised a little over $2,000, which allows us to purchase 100,000 basic essentials for some of our most vulnerable neighbors in Shreveport/Bossier.

Just a reminder, you can still make an impact anytime during the year by donating through the Give for Good platform. To make your contribution, please visit www.giveforgoodnla.org/BasicNecessities.
