I created "Emma Jean Handmade" when I first learned to crochet in December 2020, and the newness of it all excited me, and the possibilities seemed endless. π I thought I wanted to make a small business out of it, and sell my little handmade with love, crocheted, pretty things.
But after I sold a few things, I came to realize that I just really do not enjoy making things to sell/put a price on nearly as much as I enjoy making things to donate, in Jesus' name, and for gifts for friends and family.
So that's what Emma Jean Handmade is now... Crocheted items that are each made with SO much love, and each item is always prayed over, in Jesus' name. Sometimes I will even anoint the item (like a small prayer cloth) with oil if it is for someone who is in need of supernatural healing, peace, and/or comfort that only the Lord can provide. (See Acts 19; 11-12)
(I actually have a mind blowing, absolutely beautiful testimony about one of those items and maybe, with permission from the recipient, I will share that story on here one day )
The name "Emma Jean" came to me because my paternal Grandmother's name was Emma, and she is who actually inspired me to learn crochet way back when i was around 7 or 8. She taught me the basic skill of making a chain...but then I got older and lost interest. But I always remembered her showing me how to do that.
My mother's name was Jean....Doris Jean, but she went by Jean.
And so each gift I crochet comes from my heart where both Emma and Jean still live. Hence, "Emma Jean Handmade." πππ
I will usually crochet something for someone if they ask me to, (if it is within my limited skills) but for the most part, all I do now is crochet for donation and gifts.
