Ahead of National Cancer Survivors Day, we're honoring those who have faced cancer and those still navigating the journey of survivorship. When Adriane Abrams received her breast cancer diagnosis, she was devastated. A devoted wife and mother of two, Adriane always prioritized getting her mammogram, believing one should take charge of one's health and "be in the know." But a biopsy in 2023 confirmed what no one wants to hear.
Adriane was connected with our compassionate providers, including Breast Surgical Oncology Specialist Dr. Julie Broadwell, who performed her lumpectomy until her margins were cleared. Following chemotherapy and radiation, Adriane says she feels so blessed that her recovery went well. Today, she advises other fighters and survivors to take their journey one day at a time, letting them know it's okay to cry.

TRINICIA LEONARD ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR SHREVEPORT CITY COURT JUDGE, DIVISION D

As election season begins to take shape across Shreveport, local attorney and former prosecutor Trinicia Leonard-Farris has officially announced her candidacy for Shreveport City Court judge, Division D.

Leonard brings years of courtroom experience to the race, with a legal background that includes criminal law, family law and trial litigation. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to serving the citizens of Caddo Parish both inside and outside the courtroom.

Currently practicing law in the Shreveport area, Leonard said her campaign is centered on fairness, stability, professionalism and restoring confidence in the court system.

🗣️ “My platform is centered on fairness, stability and a heightened sense of professionalism within our courts,” Leonard said. “I am running because I believe the people of Shreveport deserve experienced, professional and community-focused leadership on the bench.”

In addition to her legal practice, Leonard currently serves as vice president of the Women’s Section of the Shreveport Bar Association and is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association House of Delegates.

Public service and community involvement have remained central throughout Leonard’s professional journey. She said she is committed to integrity, fairness and treating every individual who enters the courtroom with dignity and respect.

Beyond the courtroom, family plays a major role in her life. Her husband, Daniel, is also a local attorney who currently serves as a hearing officer with Shreveport Environmental Court and Property Standards. Together, they are raising their two young sons, Sebastian and Amir, in the Shreveport community they proudly call home.

As the upcoming election cycle continues to develop, Leonard’s entry into the Division D race adds another experienced legal voice to one of the city’s most important judicial positions.
