One man's trash is another man's treasure.
As a long-time resident of Bossier City, I've seen so many valuable items thrown out over the years. Baby equipment, kitchen supplies, electronics, trash bags full of clothes, cleaning supplies, books, even unopened snacks-- all discarded but still completely functional. I can't help but think that we could save so much of that waste from heading to the landfill if we just thought of these things differently. Not only that, but we could save each other so much money by sharing instead of throwing away.
That's why I'm starting this group. The truth is that we have so much stuff on this planet now that we could all survive comfortably without ever having to buy anything new. Especially now with inflation rising, wages dropping, and supply chain issues worsening, we'll need to depend less on these corporations and more on each other to keep us afloat.
Buy Nothing Project rules are simple: Post anything you’d like to give away, lend, or share amongst neighbors. Ask for anything you’d like to receive for free or borrow. Keep it legal. No hate speech. No buying or selling, no trades or bartering, we’re strictly a gift economy.
Spread the word so we can get this community off the ground!
