Introducing The Kitten Academy!

Our mission to save vulnerable felines has always driven us to evolve and expand how we tackle animal welfare. Today, we are thrilled to announce the official launch of our brand-new initiative: The Kitten Academy!

When underage bottle-fed kittens come into our care, often orphaned or separated from their mothers far too soon, they require round-the-clock dedication, specialized medical knowledge, and a whole lot of patience. With the rollout of The Kitten Academy, we are formalizing this critical need through a structured, multi-tiered framework that's designed to guide our tiniest rescues through every crucial developmental stage.

Because a kitten's needs change drastically from week to week, The Kitten Academy is built around five distinct, progressive levels of care. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, and Dean’s List. As our foster's skills grow, they graduate through stages tailored to their exact capabilities.

Every kitten deserves a fighting chance at a long happy life. With the launch of The Kitten Academy, we are making sure they get the best possible start advancing one step at a time.

A: Scott

Q: How long have you been with TKS?
A: 2 years

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Stargate

Q: How did you start volunteering with TKS?
A: We were watching a cat (Frosty) for someone and they decided they didn't want a cat anymore and asked us if we knew someone that wanted a cat. We already cats of our own and we wanted to find a good forever home for her. I knew one of the volunteers in the group and asked if we could foster Frosty untill she found a home. And we have been fosters since.

Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Sushi

Q: What do you do as a volunteer?
A: I take in fosters with my girlfriend and we attend adoption events in order to help find homes for our fosters.

Q: What is your dream vacation?
A: Love to travel to the UK and see comedy shows, plays and driving around seeing the countryside, castles, etc.

Q: What do you wish everyone knew about volunteering?
A: Even if you have pets of your own you can still foster. A spare bedroom is perfect or another space that you can keep them for a few weeks to quarantine. After that, you can introduce them to your pets or still keep them separate.

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?
A: People talking during plays or movies.
