The Annual Milwaukee Korea Day celebration & concert at UWM is just around the corner!
It is scheduled at the Helene Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, October 3, from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. The event is hosted by the Korean American Faculty and Staff Association at UWM and the Korean American Association of Milwaukee.

The event will kick off at 4:30 p.m. with a variety of activities, including K-Pop dance performances by KOMET Dance Crew and Girly Pop Dance Crew, a show-and-tell about Korea by students, and Taekwondo demonstrations by a local community group, Martial Arts United. At 6:00 p.m., there will be Korean food tastings, writing name in Korean and traditional Korean games. Admission is free.
The main event, the 2025 Korea Day Concert, will begin at 7:30 p.m. The UWM Symphony orchestra, conducted by Prof. Jun Kim will start with Tchaikovsky Romeo and Juliet Overture and Debussy Petite Suite. This year’s guest soloist is violinist YooJin Jang, a winner of the 2017 Concert Artists Guild Competition, First prize winner of the 2016 Sendai International Music Competition, and Second prize winner of Michael Hill International Violin Competition. She will perform Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major with UWM Symphony orchestra. In addition, soprano You-Seong Kim, Top prize winner at German International Art Song Competition Stuttgart and 2nd prize at Chimay Baroque Singing Competition in Belgium, will join the concert to sing the Korean art songs, Arirang Concertante & Longing for Mount Geumgang.
