Juan, like many stroke survivors has struggled with his stroke-affected side knee buckling or hyperextending. Not only is this uncomfortable and/or painful, it also doesn't feel very stable. Here is Juan a couple of months into working on stabilizing his knee in our TangoStride Class and then a couple of months later. Look at his improvement! "I couldn't do this before TangoStride!" exclaims Juan. We love seeing his excitement and seeing Juan determined and encouraged by this progress. Learn more at http://TangoStride.com

Juan last week said, "I couldn't do this [walk with knee bent on stroke-affected side] before I started this class." 🎉 We like to cheer each step, each stride toward our goals, yet once in a while, it can feel extra good to take a step back and take stock of just how far you've come. Our 2024 Keynote Speaker: Eva 🥳

For anyone who's met her, our keynote speaker needs no introduction. You'll hear her energy and enthusiasm and believe me, it's contagious! Eva joined our program a year ago and at first, she didn't feel strong or steady enough to stand, so she began by "moving everything God gave her" and dancing in her wheelchair. In the last two weeks, Eva has gotten up from her wheelchair with NO ASSISTANCE -- AND taken 6 steps just holding hands! This feels like such a big step for Eva. She's now strategizing about walking around with a walker -- or a dance partner. It feels amazing to witness how much progress Eva has made, and a beautiful reminder that if we work really hard and stick to our goals, we can make progress, one step at a time!
