If you are in the Park in the evening you may see a few Cooper's Hawks that have found a hunting ground in North City Park.

Named after an 1800's naturalist, William Cooper, the Cooper's Hawk (Accipiter cooperii) can have a wingspan of up to 36", a little smaller than other common hawks. 🌳 BIG GREEN THANK YOU! 🌳
Our muscles are sore, but our hearts are full! A massive shoutout to the 45 incredible campers and 12 rockstar teachers and counselors who spent their afternoon sweating it out at North City Park yesterday. 💪
Together, this unstoppable crew tackled the weeds like absolute pros and moved mountains of mulch to push our park restoration work leaps and bounds ahead. You all proved that teamwork makes the dream work—even when that work involves a lot of dirt and bugs! 🐜☀️
North City Park is looking more beautiful already because of your hard work. Thank you for being such amazing community heroes!

A big thank you to Key Bank branch managers who came out this week to help with North City Park restoration work! This team worked on the 10th restoration site in the park.

Thanks to all who pick up after their pets! The City provides doggy bags at the main entrance to the park if you forgot to pack yours.
We are working hard to restore the Park (removing invasive plants and installing natives) for the enjoyment of our future generation. You can do your part today [pick up after your pet] so we can all enjoy the Park today as well.

Be a good human. Scoop every p**p. 💩🐾

Dog p**p is not fertilizer. It can carry harmful bacteria and parasites that can make pets and people sick. When left on the ground, pet waste washes into storm drains and flows to streams, lakes, and Puget Sound, harming fish and wildlife.

It also creates a hazard for our Grounds Maintenance crews as mowing season gets underway in Shoreline’s parks, trails, and planting strips.

Please scoop it, bag it, and throw it in the trash, at the park, on the sidewalk, and at home.

A cleaner Shoreline starts with all of us.

Earth Day is April 22nd!! Come celebrate at North City Park from 10:00am -1:00pm. Help support restoration of this lovely 4 acre community forest.
Along with students from Soundview School, a team from PEMCO, and Shoreline Rotarians, we will be removing invasives from a new restoration site and installing native plants to increase species diversity.
