Calling all Scouts! 📢 🙋🏻‍♂️

Come join our Boy Scouts Environmental Science Merit Badge program, where scouts will explore the zoo and surrounding preserve, participate in activities at the zoo, and do independent homework assignments to complete the Environmental Science Merit Badge. During this program, the scouts will meet some of our education animals as well as perform experiments to learn about different environmental concerns. This course adheres to BSA requirements.

This is a great opportunity for scouts who want to learn more about the environment and how they can protect it! The dates for this program include Nov. 2, 9, 16, and 23 (9:00AM - 11:30AM each day) — MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND ALL 4 DATES. Scouts are selling tickets for Backwood Brothers Authentic Texas Cuisine BBQ pork meals. $12 a ticket. Meal comes with beans and coleslaw.

Meal pickup is on August 10th between 11a-1p at Perry Township Recreation Park during our annual car show. Let me know if you would like to purchase any tickets.

We are currently taking pre-registrations for our 25th Annual Car Show to help support our upcoming Scout programming and adventures! Consider joining us and please share, share, share!!

EVERY SCOUT DESERVES A TRAINED LEADER!

🕰️ Time is running out to register for Wood Badge. Courses are not held frequently, so take your opportunity to join this valuable training.

💡 Wood Badge teaches you skills that you will use in Scouting, work, and life. It is a high level leadership training that was developed by highly effective leaders. Many of the trainings you will receive at Wood Badge would cost you hundreds of dollars to attend, but with the help of volunteers, we can offer this same material at a much lower cost to you!

😨 Don't fear the Ticket - Many hear about the commitment that Wood Badge brings. The ticket is designed to allow you to master the leadership skills you learned during the course and put them into action! There is a commitment beyond the course, but our staff is highly skilled to ensure that your commitment to the ticket fits your current Scouting role. You will always have a coach along the way to completing the ticket as well. DON'T LET THE TICKET BE THE REASON YOU HAVENT SIGNED UP YET!

🏖️ Time away from work - we can help you with a letter to your employer explaining what we offer for the course and we ask that your employer allow you time off (paid or unpaid) to take advantage of this training. See a staff member for more details.

Reminder that the Scouts will be collecting food on Saturday Nov 9 to support Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank.

Have any donations on your porch/step by 8 AM on Saturday and the Scouts will drive/walk by and collect them.

Over the next week, Scouts will distribute door tags and collect food to support Scouting for Food. Duty to others is one facet of Scouting.

Hello Everyone!
BSA Troops 163 and Cub Pack 163 will be running a donation table at the Hamburg Military and First Responder Night for Wreaths Across America on Friday, September 6!!

We will need some volunteers from the Troop and Pack to help man the donation table that night from 5 pm through end of game! ⚜️

This will help us work towards our $3,000 goal of ensuring EVERY VETERAN in Zion’s Church Cemetery receives a Wreath before December 1!

Any adults interested in some great additional training to be the best leader for our kids?! 😉

Woodbadge 2025 is coming to Hawk Mountain Council next March and April!

Let me know and I’ll get you some more info! This training would be especially helpful for anyone in a newer leader role or who has an AOL getting ready to cross into the Troop!! ⚜️

Several Scouts from Troop 163B had a great week at Resica Falls Scout Reservation! It was hot out in the beginning, but cooled down a bit after some rain. Each Scout successfully completed merit badges, and three graduated from the first year program, Resica Rangers! ⚜️
