✨ Honoring a Trailblazer. Celebrating a Movement. ✨

ERASE Racism is proud to recognize Monique Fitzgerald as the recipient of the Elaine Gross Trailblazer Award at our 25th Anniversary Benefit on June 3.

For more than 20 years, Monique has been a relentless advocate for justice, equity, and community empowerment. A lifelong North Bellport resident, she has dedicated her work to mutual aid, food sovereignty, environmental and climate justice, community resource distribution, and helping people know and exercise their rights.

As a community organizer, educator, and co-creator of grassroots initiatives like the Brookhaven Landfill Action and Remediation Group, Monique embodies the spirit of courageous leadership and collective action. Her commitment to justice and liberation continues to inspire and uplift communities across Long Island.

As we celebrate 25 years of advancing fair housing, educational equity, and youth leadership, we are honored to recognize leaders like Monique who remind us that change is built by people willing to stand up, organize, and act.

Join us on June 3, 2026 at The Garden City Hotel as we celebrate our progress, build community, and recommit ourselves to the work ahead.
