The CSO is at our location today! We are so happy and thankful they are able to come to our VFW and provide assistance to veterans in our area. If you or a veteran you know could benefit from their services, stop by and take advantage of this valuable resource. Y'all, I apologize for the confusion, so let's start over.

I am still able to order these shirts; however, due to shipping delays, we will not receive them until around August. If you would still like a shirt, please comment with the color, size, and quantity you would like.

I will not be using the comments from the previous post since the delivery timeframe has changed and some people may have changed their minds.

We will only be ordering the shirts that are preordered. No extra shirts will be purchased, so if you want one, please be sure to place your order.

I will be placing the order on Monday, June 22nd. I will not accept any orders after Sunday, June 21st, so please be sure to get your order in before the deadline. Cost is $15 a shirt.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of one of our VFW members, Robert C. Reid. Robert proudly served his country in Korea, and we are deeply grateful for his service and sacrifice. The members and officers of VFW Post 4513 extend our deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Obituary Robert Carl Reid

Robert Carl Reid, You know him as Bob, was born in Port Huron, Michigan on October 8, 1930 and died on May 29, 2026 in Fairfield Bay, AR.
He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War for four years. (1950-1954) He was one of the “Frozen Chosen” who spent one year in the rugged mountains of North Korea in 1950. Dad never spoke much about his time there and would only mention that he vowed he would never be cold again. And, he never was. He was the ray of sunshine for so many.
he is survived by his daughter Lori, and daughter, Deb, her husband Doug and his grandsons, Sam and Seth.
He was a volunteer for the FFB rescue squad and drove the ambulance for 10 years.
He was married and had three children, Deb, Lori, and Jim. He is survived by his daughter Lori, and daughter, Deb, her husband Doug and his grandsons, Sam and Seth, nieces and nephews.
He was divorced and eventually remarried to the love of his life, Jo. They married and each retired from State Farm in 1987, then moved to Fairfield Bay that same year. He found a home there and his heart and soul will be forever with your community. It takes a village and you were his. We have the deepest of gratitude for all of you making his life brighter. I heard many stories from many of you and they were all about the little kindnesses he did, making each of you feel seen and loved.
Attached to his will were these parting words: “When you grow lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know. And bury your sorrow on doing good deeds, miss me but let me go.”
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jo, and my brother, Jim. His siblings and many friends also preceded him.
