Making a difference in someone's life especially when they have a loved one who has moved on to the next phase in life.
“Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.” Jeremiah 17:14
All along this journey of summer mission work, the little things made a huge difference. Even down to selecting paint colors & how they matched what was needed.
Mountainside UMC came to the community with healing prayers in mind. They sure made a difference!
Friendships were made and strengthened. Painting is very therapeutic. Lots of positive energy left for the next time this home is visited to paint the inside.
Deuteronomy 31:8—"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

What a great way to start off the week! The summer mission work team from Mountainside UMC persevered together to complete a much needed access ramp to a home occupied by an elderly grandmother.
Thanks to the NM Ramp team lead for prepping the materials and supplies to make this site project a success. Despite the intense heat, all volunteers took turns helping each other out including staggering water breaks.

Forever grateful for the perseverance of the St. John's summer mission work team who dedicated their time, energy, & beautiful prayers to bring much needed assistance to families in dire need of home repairs. Much more importantly, the compassion they brought into their lives. From picking up litter in a creek (1 truck load), painting over graffiti, recycling metal (1001 lbs.) from a home burn out, replacing a front door & trash collection (4 truck loads). No matter how big or small the job, the St. John's UMC team was full of joy & happiness! Ahéhee to these wonderful people who have become our family.
