To be able to provide every patient with a comfort blanket when all measures fail and their situation becomes terminal.

To make the environment less hospital like, and ultimately provide family with a meaningful keepsake to have forever.

Filled up the blanket bins and topped off the comfort carts at UPMC Carlisle this weekend! 🧸🩷🛒

Also restocked the comfort bears — huge thank you to the Pinnacle Foundation for helping support this little project and bringing comfort to patients and families when they need it most ❤️🐻

As always, donations are always appreciated and very much needed! 💕
Currently accepting:
🧺 New blankets
🧸 Comfort bears/stuffed animals
🧶 Yarn for our amazing crocheters & knitters
🧴 Toiletries & comfort items
🎲 Small activities, puzzle books, crayons, card games, fidget items, etc.

💙🩺 Happy Mother’s Day to all of the amazing moms out there…especially our nurse moms, volunteer moms, grandma moms, and all the women out there constantly caring for everyone else before themselves 🌸💐 You are appreciated more than words can say! 💕

I also want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped make Nurses Week 2026 so special! 🩷 Because of this incredible community, we were able to put together OVER 550 Nurses Week goody bags for nurses complete with handmade coasters/mug rugs for everyone ☕🎁🩺 The love, donations, time, crafting, sewing, crocheting, organizing, and support that went into this was honestly overwhelming in the best way. Our nurses felt so appreciated last week and that happened because of YOU 🥹💜

A very special thank you to Operation Warm Hearts Thank you for your generous donations and continued support of our mission. Attached are pictures of their recent donations from their amazing organization and volunteers 🩷🛏️ We are so incredibly grateful for your kindness, generosity, and hard work. Your donations will help bring comfort to so many patients and families.

Another huge thank you to Erica Lounder ❤️ for all of her work helping support and grow this mission, along with helping strengthen and expand these initiatives at our sister hospitals. Your compassion, dedication, and behind-the-scenes support mean more than you know 🩷

🛏️ New blankets (approximately twin size or large lap blanket size preferred)
💌 Comfort items and donations for our patient support initiatives

I want to take a moment to send a very special thank you to some incredible groups who are helping make Nurses Week 2026 so meaningful for our nurses ❤️

A huge shoutout to the Perry County Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, the Magdalena Rug Hookers of Perry County / Juniata Valley Quilt Guild for their beautiful handmade mug rug donations 🧵🪡

These aren’t just gifts—they are little pieces of comfort, kindness, and appreciation that our nurses will truly feel. The time, care, and love that goes into each one does not go unnoticed 💕

Because of your generosity, we are able to continue showing our nurses just how valued and appreciated they are for everything they do, every single day 🩺💙

✨ Look what was added to our space at UPMC Carlisle! ✨

Right next to our Forever In Our Hearts blanket donation bin, my amazing friend Alicia added a Free Little Library in the outpatient waiting area at UPMC Carlisle 📚💙

Now patients, families, and staff can:
📖 Take a book
📖 Leave a book
📖 Find a little escape during a stressful time

Alicia—this is such a thoughtful, beautiful addition. It truly means so much 💙

This space continues to grow into something special… a place filled with comfort, kindness, and the little things that make the biggest difference 💫

More beautiful handmade mug rugs ☕ and comfort blankets 🧶 keep coming in, and I truly thank all of you incredible volunteers. Every stitch, every pattern, every piece you create is made with love—and I promise you, our nurses and patients feel that 💙

Big shoutout to Awake Chocolate 🍫⚡ for their incredibly generous donation of several bags of chocolate that I’ll be handing out to our nurses for Nurses Week! 💙👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

If you’ve never tried Awake and enjoy a little caffeine kick, you definitely need to check them out 👀✨ I personally buy from them year-round—they’re that good!
