John Paul II Center is the only Catholic school in Berks County that provides a comprehensive educational program for children and adults (ages 3-21) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our Adult Program was established to provide personalized assistance to adults (ages 21+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This diverse day program focuses on maintaining and developi

ng social and self-help skills. We are open to individuals of all faiths and religious beliefs, and have traditionally served Catholics and non-Catholics in equal numbers. We educate the whole child academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

This school year, Mrs. Knoop’s class had the wonderful opportunity to connect with pen pals in New York! With the support of the Occupational Therapy group, they learned how to write friendly letters and properly address envelopes. They loved exchanging letters and getting to know another class throughout the year. Friday was the highlight of their pen pal experience—we finally got to meet our new friends on Zoom! What a great way to end the school year!
