Shickshinny Area Community Choir

Shickshinny Area Community Choir Community Choirfest is an annual choral music festival in Shickshinny, Pennsylvania. Each year has been different.

Community Choirfest was established in 2004 as an annual choral festival in the Shickshinny area. It has attracted participants from Benton, Fairmount Springs, Hunlock Creek, Shickshinny and the surrounding areas. But the reasons we gather remain constant: a love of God, a love of music, and a love of our community. Since its founding in 2004, the Shickshinny Area Community Choir has expanded its

performance schedule beyond the Community Choirfest to include a Christmas concert, Christmas caroling, Lessons and Carols service, and a celebration of American music. The community choir is a place where local musicians of all ages and skill levels can gather for music-making and fellowship.

The Shickshinny Area Community Choir under the direction of co-director Cindy Rupp will be providing the music for the eighteenth annual Service of Lessons and Carols at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church of Shickshinny. The service consists of Christmas-related scripture readings alternating with choral music and congregational singing of Christmas carols. There is no admission charge. A free-will offering will be taken to support the choir and the church. There will be a reception in the church social hall following the concert. The church is located at the corner of Rt. 11 and Butler St. in Shickshinny. For more information, call 570-542-7338.
