Hey, Sherwood!
Just in case you may not be aware, the Friends of the Sherwood Marjorie Stewart Senior Community Center is a non-profit organization that both raises funds and spreads information throughout Sherwood to benefit the Center. We also try to help alert folks to the need for volunteers to assist the Center in everything from meal services to meal deliveries, front desk assistance, and a lot of other things that the Center has going on.
But the Friends cannot do this without a Board to help run things, coordinate things, and help spread the word.
Right now, we've two open Board positions, and are looking for volunteers to assist us in having new ideas and more help in managing the Board's affairs. Especially that of Secretary.
We normally hold our Board meetings on Mondays at 2:00 pm, and while the particular Monday in each month may vary, the day and time remain fairly consistant.
So, if you or someone you know would be interested in helping us out and joining in a fun and practical group of folks who love helping our Senior community here in Sherwood, you can contact us in various ways, including via telephone to Maiya Burbank at the Center ((503) 625-5644 and leaving a message with her, or sending an email to us at [email protected] (Though the telephone is faster).
You can also leave a comment here, and one of us will contact you via FB messenger separately to initiate a phone call. Do NOT leave your phone number here!
Thank you for your consideration and interest!
