Last week our 4th graders learned about Paul. They learned about his travels, sharing the gospel and leading people to Jesus. Paul was a missionary, but he also worked as a tent maker. The students were able to build tents like Paul.

Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has set a day when he is going to judge the world in righteousness by the man he has appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.” Acts 17:30-31

We still have WAY more thank yous to hand out from our benefit, but we wanted to share some of the fun in the 4th grade classroom this week: The lesson was about commitment and being persistent. They learned about Paul's ministry and how, even though he faced many challenges and was even jailed, he made sure he still followed his calling and preached about Jesus!

The challenge the kids did was to try to use only their facial muscles to get an Oreo from their forehead to their mouth. While this may not be as challenging as the journey that Paul faced, when Mr. Davis only gives you 30 seconds to accomplish this task and your 4th graders are highly competitive, it makes for an interesting 2 minutes!

June, one of our volunteers and Shari, one of our drivers even got in on the action too ❤️💛

We pray these kids understand the power they have if they put God's will first and commit to the challenge ahead, no matter what obstacles could stand in their way!

We want to extend a very heartfelt thank you to SO many people and area businesses who helped make our annual benefit a success this year.

We'd like to start with our hometown heros - Crystal Fountain Park and Iron Horse Brews your hospitality and service are unmatched. We are truly so blessed to have these area businesses in Sherwood.

The tables and chairs were all set up and ready to go and even though he and his wife had prior plans, Luke made sure to swing by on Friday while we were setting up to check up on us. Saturday, Levi (and Calvin too) stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed at the venue and Kelsey was just a text away as well. They even had a special suprise with colored ceiling lights they had recently installed (of corse we went with red ❤️) to add to the setting. From the big details to the small ones, they have you covered!

The Iron Horse crew made it a point to bring some of their youngest team members to help out and, word on the street is, they did and amazing job! They even had a few little ones who ASKED if they could help Mr. Davis and Mrs. Hardman finish putting things out on the the tables while the rest of the team was putting out the salad bowls. Their catering team truly makes it a worry-free experience and provides everything you need.

Furthermore, when I asked both of these "small town" businesses if I could tag them on our page, they both said yes. Sometimes, being tagged on a Christian page can be...impactful...to a business, and we want to be transparent with that fact. Neither of them hesitated. Neither them were ashamed to be associated with LifeWise Central Local. Both of these businesses do SO much for our community and we are so thankful for them.

But I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day. - 2 Timothy 1:12

One of our many favortie things about LifeWise is that our kids are actually reading their Bibles! They are taught how to find each book of the Bible, chapter and verse and then, we READ!

Pictured below is one of our amazing volunteers with a 3rd grade student as they read through their Bible story for the day.

Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving

Mrs. Haase and our 7th grade class are pausing for prayer, as they do during each and every class. Prayer is such an important part of our relationship with God. It is so important that our kids feel comfortable and confident to talk to Him about whatever is on their hearts and minds, no matter how big or how small they think it is.
