This Memorial Day weekend, let us always remember and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we treasure today.
On National Poppy Day, we remember the powerful meaning behind the red poppy and the words of In Flanders Fields written during World War I by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae.
The poem honors the fallen soldiers who gave their lives in service to freedom and reminds us that their sacrifice must never be forgotten. The red poppy, growing among the graves in Flanders Fields, became a lasting symbol of remembrance, sacrifice, and hope.
Today, we proudly wear the poppy to honor all Veterans—especially those who never made it home—and to support the mission of remembering and serving those who served us.
“Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.”
Please take a moment today to remember the brave men and women who sacrificed for our nation.
