The Christian Food Pantry of Sherrills Ford provides emergency food assistance in the Sherrills Ford area. The pantry is housed at Hopewell Methodist Church and continues to be supported by the following churches: Concord UMC, Hopewell UMC, Mt. Pleasant UMC, Olivet Baptist, Rehobeth UMC, and Sherrills Ford Presbyterian. Church and community representatives as well as a social worker from Catawba C
ounty Schools serve on the board of directors. The Christian Food Pantry is a local program and it is not associate with any governmental programs. 97% of the money and food goods donated or collected go straight to those in need. The program is designed for those in need of temporary support to provide food for their family. The Christian Food Pantry also supports the local Backpack for Kids programs on an emergency basis, donates food supplies to Hospice when needed and tithes all goods receives to Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministry.
