Matthew’s Hearts of Hope, Inc. (MHOH) was founded by Marie Hatcher, Mom to Matthew, to raise awareness to the #1 birth defect, Congenital Heart Defects.

(MHOH) was founded in 2011 by Marie Hatcher, Mom to CHD Warrior Matthew. The goals of Matthew's Hearts of Hope are to raise awareness to the number one birth defect, Congenital Heart Defects (CHD), offer support to CHD patients and their families, as well as raise funds for research. We are a designated 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. MHOH seeks to support CHD Warriors and their families, honor CHD Angels and make a real and lasting difference with this disease. We are saving lives and raising hope, one and a half hearts at a time.

Today marks 15 months without you Matthew, you are still missed just as much 😇❤️! We were all together at Providence College this weekend for parent weekend, I know you were smiling down. We saw Kelly Clarkson in concert, I felt you during her song “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill you)”.
We delivered heart pillows and the grant applications went out to six hospitals. We will continue to honor your memory as best as we can. Your Immaculate Friends honored you at a Girls Volleyball game and a girl’s soccer game. Your friend Payton scored four goals, they won 7 to 1.
Your “Let it be’s” are always just when I need them so thank you! Your favorite hockey player Igor Shesterskin scored a goal, I have to believe you saw it and were smiling down! Please continue to watch over us and all the CHD Warriors down here still fighting the good fight.! Love you more buddy ❤️!

Today marks 14 months without you Matthew, you are love and missed just as much today as 14 months ago. We spent today at an Army Football game, they won 59 to 3 against Bryant University 🖤💛🏈. Your brothers are back at college and the house is quiet again. Yesterday was the first school mass of the year and it was for your friend Max, he is loved and is missed so much! The first day of Senior year at Immaculate High School hit hard, I’m not gonna lie! Your friend Bella got the call for her heart transplant on 8/6, your 18th birthday, not a coincidence, please continue to watch over her ❤️. Thank you for all the “hello’s”, you always send them when I need them! I especially loved Dolly Parton, Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr’s version of “Let it be”!
I love you more & miss you buddy, every minute of every day! Keep watching over all of us 😇❤️! Your bright light and smile is missed more than words can say!

Hard to believe we are now thirteen months without you Matthew! You are missed more than words can say! Thank you all your “hello’s”, you’ve been a roll lately! Today we spent time with two of your favorite nurses, Steve & Ben, they had lunch with us and brought you some birthday cake for tomorrow! Tomorrow, you will turn 18 years old in Heaven, how I wish I was celebrating with you! One of your friends passed away suddenly, I have to believe that you welcomed him with open arms and you’re both up there chatting about the upcoming football season. A friend got a tattoo in memory of you MJH❤️! Lots of heart pillows and some quilts are heading to Cardiac ICU to be shared with the heart kids.
Worked on updating the MHOH website, that was emotional. We have funded close to 90 CHD Research Projects totaling over $550,000, you had a MASSIVE impact Matthew and we will continue to honor your memory by continuing to do the work, I know you’ll help to guide me 😇❤️! Keep watching over us. Happy 18th Birthday in Heaven tomorrow Matthew, I love you more buddy and miss you every second of every day🎂🥳!

Today marks 12 months, a whole year without you Matthew! You are missed more than words can say! We had dinner delivered to 9 Tower & 6 Tower at CHONY today as a thank you to all your favorite nurses and doctors. I received lots of texts and messages from friends and family remembering you today. Your smile and quirky sense of humor are what we miss the most! I know you’re in Heaven watching over us all and we greatly appreciate all your “hello’s”! We need you to keep guiding us with your gentle grace!

Today marks eleven months without you Matthew, we all miss you just as much today as we did eleven months ago! It has been really nice having your brothers home from college. Last night, your light was shining brightly at the Immaculate High School Baccalaureate Mass. We gave out two scholarships in your memory called “No Fear, just Faith” Awards in the amount of $2500 to two very worthy recipients 😇. Also some of your friends on the IHS softball team had a fundraising night for Matthew’s Hearts of Hope, it was a beautiful night honoring you 😇❤️! We also travelled to Alaska, somewhere that you always wanted to go. Walking on a glacier was one of the highlights, thanks for the “hello” on the way back, a heart shaped lake was a pretty awesome sight to see. I imagine the pictures you would have taken would have been breathtaking! You are loved and missed more than you know but I’m pretty sure you know. Keep sending all your “hello’s” we greatly appreciate them 😇❤️! As the one year anniversary approaches, I am emotional but I’ll know you’ll help us all get through it.

Today marks ten months without you Matthew and we all still miss you a ton! Thank you for helping my CNA students to pass their Prometric Test, they were all praying to you! I’m still grateful for your sweet “hello’s” from Heaven. This weekend will be my first Mother’s Day without you and will be hard but I know you’ll send me a sign and your brother’s will make sure to support me.
The Immaculate High School Softball Team is honoring you next Friday 5/15, please consider joining us.
Mrs K sent a perfectly timed “hello” today 😇❤️, I have to believe you were behind it, you knew I needed it!

Today marks 9 months without you and you are still missed a ton by all of us! Seems fitting that today is Easter Sunday, the day that we celebrate The Ressurection! You continue to show up BIG, your “hellos” are greatly appreciated! The Seniors at Immaculate High School are dedicating their yearbook to you, you touched many of them more than you know, although I believe you know. We ordered your headstone, I hope you like it. We funded 3 CHD Research Projects. Your heart pillows ❤️continue to be distributed at MSCHONY.
Fr. Matthew left me a lovely voicemail today about your beautiful life and that he is praying for us. This time last year was the beginning of your downward spiral. I’m so proud of how hard you fought but God had a different plan. Your ripple continues and I believe it will be greater in the coming months and years! There’s some BIG things in the works, I know you know.
Your cousin Sean is heading back to the World Cup with his Team, Ireland! Carrie Underwood’s song “Champion” one of your favorites, played as I was texting his dad, Uncle Seamie, I believe you were there cheering him on!
I miss you buddy and favorite sidekick everyday, keep watching over me, dad and your brothers, we need your guidance from above! No Fear, Just Faith ❤️😇✝️
