Dear Sherman School Families,
As we near the end of another wonderful school year filled with graduations, class trips, and end-of-year celebrations, The SPTO would first and foremost like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU for your continued support and generosity. Your involvement helps make the events and experiences we create successful and, more importantly, helps make our children’s school year truly memorable.
The SPTO’s mission is to support enriching opportunities for our students through fundraising and community events. While our contributions do not cover all expenses associated with school trips and activities, we strive to help lessen the financial burden on families while providing students with valuable experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
Thanks to your support throughout the year, we were proud to help fund the following:
• Third Grade: Beardsley Zoo Trip – $115
• Fourth Grade: Ellis Island Trip – $3,615
• Fifth & Sixth Grade: Old Sturbridge Village Trip – $1,500
• Middle School: Peabody Museum & Barcelona Restaurant Trip – $1,008
• Eighth Grade: Keeler Museum Trip – $360
• Eighth Grade: Capitol Trip – $695
• All Grades: Field Day – $1,100
This is just a glimpse of what we’ve been able to accomplish together this year — none of which would be possible without your support.
As the school year comes to a close, we are already looking ahead to next year and planning how we can continue funding future field trips and memorable student experiences. That is why our Summer Kick-Off Event is so important. This event helps replenish funds used throughout the year and allows us to begin the next school year with a healthy budget to continue supporting our students and staff from the start.
We kindly ask for your continued support as this event approaches. Whether through a financial contribution, volunteering your time, or simply attending and participating, every bit of support makes a difference.
Our Silent Auction is a major part of our Summer Kick-Off Party being held on Saturday, June 20th. We are currently collecting donations from local businesses and community members to help make this event a success. If you are a local business owner — or know someone who may be interested in sponsoring or donating a gift card, item, or service — please contact us at [email protected].
We have created Amazon Wish Lists with themed basket donations for each grade level to support the Silent Auction. This is simply for convenience, please feel free to shop on your own. We’re also accepting Amazon gift cards which can be sent electronically to [email protected]. Our middle school theme is gift cards, and we welcome donations in any denomination to stores of your choice. All items must be received by June 15th. If not using the wish list, please deliver to main office.
