🌱 Alliance President and CEO Sonya Kay Blake joined fellow members and partners at the California State University, Northridge Institute for Sustainability Advisory Board meeting, bringing together leaders committed to advancing sustainability and economic vitality across our region.

🌿 Fall 2026 Cohort: Valley Green Business Initiative

The Valley Economic Alliance, in partnership with Los Angeles Department of Water & Power and USGBC California, is helping eligible small and midsize businesses in City Council Districts 2, 6, and 7 improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, and attract sustainability-minded customers — at no cost to participate.

Participating businesses can receive:
✅ Technical assistance and a business assessment to identify cost-saving opportunities
💡 Guidance on utility programs, rebates, and incentives
🔋 Potential financial subsidies for energy efficiency upgrades, battery storage, and EV charging stations

Bonus for the Fall 2026 cohort: Enroll by October 31 to receive additional no-cost support toward California Green Business Network certification.

The Valley Economic Alliance was proud to help promote this terrific event, which drew more than 200 attendees to explore career opportunities in technology.

🏙️ Alliance President & CEO Sonya Kay Blake joined business, government, and industry leaders at the 2026 Sports & Entertainment Procurement Summit, focused on connecting local businesses to contracting opportunities across Los Angeles.

🤝 Alliance Executive Vice President of External Affairs Greg Martayan had the pleasure of meeting with City of San Fernando, Government leaders William Pettener, Assistant to the City Manager; Ron Garcia, Director of Community Development; and Linden Johnson, Economic Development Manager.

The meeting was a great opportunity to connect with the team from one of The Alliance’s strategic partner cities and continue collaboration around economic development and the San Fernando Valley business community.
