🇵🇭✨ Alliance President and CEO Sonya Kay Blake spent the evening at the Maharlika Met Gala with incredible Filipino American leaders and champions of community empowerment — Celeste Moderin, the new Chair of the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Los Angeles, Gerry Palon, President of COFACC (Coalition of Filipino American Chambers of Commerce), representing 61 Filipino American chambers across the United States, and Ellen Samson, VP of COFACC.

Events like Maharlika remind us that culture, diversity, and community are not just things we celebrate — they are powerful drivers of economic opportunity, entrepreneurship, and connection.

The Alliance is proud of our longtime partnership with the Filipino Chambers, where we continue to provide business assistance and resources that help entrepreneurs and small businesses grow and thrive. Together, we are building bridges across communities and creating pathways for future generations of leaders.

“Maharlika” in Tagalog represents nobility, strength, and the spirit of freedom — values that perfectly reflect the resilience and excellence of the Filipino American community.

Maraming salamat for the warm welcome, meaningful conversations, and continued partnership. The future is brighter when we uplift one another and celebrate the richness of every culture. 💛

🎓🤝 Building a stronger workforce starts with strong partnerships.

Alliance Executive Vice President, Greg Martayan, recently visited Los Angeles Pierce College, where he spent time learning about the college's academic programs and meeting with faculty and staff who are preparing the next generation of talent for our region's workforce.

We extend our appreciation to Alliance Board Member and Pierce College President Aracely Aguiar for her leadership and commitment to student success. Institutions like Pierce College play a critical role in developing the skilled workforce our region needs to remain competitive.

The visit aligns closely with The Alliance's Strategic Plan, which prioritizes strengthening workforce development and education through work-based learning opportunities, employer engagement, and the expansion of our Talent Connect initiative. By connecting educational institutions, employers, and training providers, we can help create pathways to high-demand careers while addressing workforce needs across growing industries. 🚀

We look forward to continuing our partnership with Pierce College as we work together to strengthen the Valley's talent pipeline and economic future.
