Bioscience, biotechnology and biomanufacturing connect science to real-world careers—from laboratories and research to manufacturing, data, quality control and healthcare.

The opportunities are growing:
• The LA region aims to create 10,000 life-science jobs by 2030.
• Average bioscience salaries in LA County exceed $100,000 annually.
• Students can prepare through community college, four-year programs and specialized training.

The San Fernando Valley offers strong pathways into these careers, with programs at Glendale Community College, Los Angeles Mission College, Los Angeles Pierce College, Los Angeles Valley College and California State University, Northridge.

Eligible students may also save at least $2,208 in community college enrollment fees through the Los Angeles College Promise, with financial aid available for qualifying students.

Bioscience studies living things. Biotechnology uses that science to develop medicines, vaccines, and medical tests. Biomanufacturing makes those products safely. Healthcare workers use them to diagnose illness, provide treatment, and help patients recover. 🧬

The opportunities are growing:
