One of the hardest parts of raising a teenager is knowing when to give them the answer—and when to let them figure it out.

As parents, our instinct is often to protect them from mistakes, disappointment, or difficult decisions.

But some of the most important skills they’ll need as adults are built when they have opportunities to think, choose, struggle, adjust, and try again.

That doesn’t mean stepping away.

It means changing our role.

Sometimes they need our advice.
Sometimes they need our encouragement.
And sometimes they simply need to know we believe they can handle what comes next.

We’re not just preparing young people to graduate.

We’re preparing them for life.
