In Memoriam: Patricia A. Mowry Winters - February 4, 1933 – March 14, 2023
Purrfect Solutions’ CEO “Granny” Pat Winters crossed over on March 14 peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family. She has likely made a stop at the Rainbow Bridge where many of her animal friends are waiting to greet her before moving onto her next set of tasks, as if you know one thing about Pat, it was rarely did she rest.
She was an amazing and talented artist. A former beauty queen, having retired from singing, modeling, acting and a successful real estate career -- and between painting and volunteering for her community -- Pat and friends started their cat rescue, Purrfect Solutions Feline Rescue, in 2000 when Pat was 67-years-old. The beautiful cattery, built by friends, has been described as Disneyland for cats, and the cats she would take in from the neighborhood, community members and shelters were well cared for and much loved. Ever the generous hostess, all were welcome to drop in and enjoy listening to Pat’s enthralling stories of her past, and maybe she would sing a song or two. Indefatigable until around age 89, Pat continued on with the help of her dedicated volunteers until she couldn’t anymore.
Our heartfelt gratitude to Pat’s friends and everyone who donated, adopted our kitties, and volunteered throughout the years: former board members, errand runners, transporters, trappers, bookkeepers, webmasters, photographers, caretakers, fundraisers, scoopers, feeders, handypeople, cleaners, community partners and more. Many thanks to our friends at The Rescue Train and Pat’s longtime friend and collaborator, Cindy Paul at Cat Connection who continues to assist the community on behalf of Purrfect Solutions pending its final closure and dissolution.
