Today is sadly the last day of NHCW, but it's been so much fun sharing photos of staff and additional info on all things One Health! Today, we're giving thanks and looking towards the future!
Here's what our incredible CEO, Dr. Mark had to say to a few questions we've received:
- One Health has grown so much and expanded its footprint across multiple communities. When you look back at everything our team has accomplished recently, what are you most grateful for?
"I’m deeply thankful for our ability to respond to the needs of our communities—and amplify their strengths—with real action that delivers meaningful results for our patients and neighbors. We are working in a healthcare landscape that seems to become more complex and uncertain with each passing year, and it has been a tremendous joy to be part of an organization that has grown not only in size and reach, but also in wisdom, experience, resilience, and creativity.
Above all, I’m grateful for the people who have been part of this journey: our remarkable colleagues, our patients, and the community members and partners who continue to place their trust in us. Ultimately, this work is all about relationships. My hope is that, together, we are building healthy and positive relationships, strengthening healthy communities, and helping create the conditions in which people can truly thrive."
- As healthcare and community needs continue to evolve, how do you see One Health growing or adapting to meet those changing needs while staying true to our core mission?
"The world of primary healthcare is becoming more complicated, uncertain, and challenging. More of our community members are facing steep barriers—from losing insurance coverage and struggling to afford medications to rising costs for rent, groceries, and gas—along with growing uncertainty about what the future may hold. One Health must continue to adapt and move forward boldly, but also thoughtfully, pursuing well-considered strategies that allow our organization to grow, remain resilient, and continue serving our communities through these challenging times.
Our mission calls us to think broadly about what truly shapes the health of our patients and communities, including the economic and social conditions that affect people’s ability to thrive. Meeting the future will require creativity, courage, and a willingness to evolve while remaining grounded in who we are and whom we serve. I’m confident that One Health has the people, ideas, resilience, and courage needed to do exceptionally well in the days ahead. By being wise stewards of the resources entrusted to us, we will be well positioned to navigate an unpredictable future and continue delivering outstanding care to the communities that depend on us."
