Grant County 4-H In Arkansas, it takes the form of
community clubs, project groups, in-school
and afterschool programs. Who can be in 4-H?

The mission of 4-H is to provide opportunities for youth to acquire knowledge, develop life skills, form attitudes, and practice behavior that will enable them to become self directing, productive, and contributing members of society. 4-H is a fun and educational program where
kids “learn by doing.” It’s a great opportunity
for youth to acquire knowledge and skills, and
develop healthy lifestyles

they can use the rest
of their lives. Four-H is part of the
University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture
and reaches more than 134,000 youth. In Arkansas there are three age levels in which youth can participate in the 4-H program. They are:
• Cloverbuds – 5 – 8
• Juniors – 9 – 13
• Seniors – 14 – 19

How do I Join 4-H? To join 4-H in Grant County Contact the Grant County Extension Office at 942-2231 and enroll at 4h.uaex.edu

Meet the newest Arkansas 4-H Hall of Fame inductees!
Sulli Schaffer of Benton County, Daley Rogers of Grant County, and Channing Ashworth of Washington County.

They were honored tonight at the 2026 Teen Star and Hall of Fame Ceremony at the Arkansas 4-H Center.

Over the past few weeks, we've been getting ready to take on the Arkansas State 4-H Outdoor Skills Challenge, and we're excited to share the results! We had 19 kids decided to try their hand at this year's contest that consisted of Fishing, Axe Throwing, BB Guns, Slingshots, and Fire Building. Today we were able to bring a few awards back home.

Preston Bazare did an amazing job, earning 1st place in Senior Slingshot, 2nd in Senior Fishing, 3rd in Senior BB Guns, and finishing 3rd Overall in the Senior Individual category.

Jarrett Smith also had an excellent showing, taking 1st in Junior Slingshot, 2nd in Junior Axe Throwing, 2nd in Junior BB Guns, 3rd in Junior Fishing, and 1st Overall in the Junior Individual Category.

Foster Wallis and Brantley Barrett teamed up to secure 1st place in Junior Fishing.

Cruz Doan and Jaxton Rutherford showed their skills with a 1st place in Junior Axe Throwing, 1st in Junior Slingshot, and 2nd in Junior BB Guns.

Lastly, Carson Turner and Jonah Rutherford took 2nd place in Junior Slingshots, 3rd in Junior Fishing, 3rd in Axe Throwing, and 3rd Overall in the Junior Team Category.

We're so proud of all of our kids and can’t wait to see what they’ll do next!

Grant County 4-H and Sheridan Schools SeaPerch teams once again placed among the best in the world!

Competing against 210 teams from six countries across four continents, our students represented Arkansas at the highest level. More than 12,000 students participated in SeaPerch worldwide in 2026, and we are incredibly proud to have some of the very best right here in Grant County!

We'd love for you to join us on June 18th for a fun day exploring the Clinton Presidential Center and the Old State House Museum. Our tour at the Clinton Center kicks off at 10 a.m., and afterwards, we'll enjoy a relaxing lunch by the river. Then, we'll head over to the Old State House Museum for another tour and wrap up the day with a special program they’ve put together for us. Our teams have landed in Washington DC and will be defending their 2025 World Seaperch title tomorrow! Stay tuned for updates!

Good luck to the Madison County and Grant County SeaPerch teams as they represent Arkansas 4-H this weekend at the International SeaPerch Competition in College Park, Maryland!

These talented youth have worked incredibly hard developing their underwater robotics, teamwork, problem-solving, and engineering skills, and we are so proud to see them competing on the international stage.We know you will represent Arkansas 4-H with excellence, determination, and sportsmanship.
