We are getting some of the metrics back around the supply chain conference. Over 35 Wyoming based companies from a range of services attended. Panel discussion on Tuesday AM was a hit as Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems and Northrup Grummen provided a clear message around need and the challenges.

The A&D Supply Chain Conference was a solid success. Our intention to bring awareness of the Aerospace and Defense needs and procurement options to Wyoming businesses was met. We had a full house. Congrats to the many Sheridan manufacturers that are participating in the tours next week. This awareness and information is important and clearly demonstrates how viable this sector is. The Chamber is pushing this event from schools to community. The next week we have the Aerospace and Defense Supply Chain conference located in Casper, this is the drive to bring work projects to our companies making the viable, strong and sustainable.

The Wyoming Business Council will be holding a board meeting in Sheridan on Wednesday and Thursday. The WBC has been very productive for many projects and initiatives within our area. From the support for Downtown to assistance in funding for a variety of projects they have been key to enabling our diversity of industry. Of note the productive relationship of R Briggs at SEEDA has opened many channels. It is great to have them visit and hold their meeting.

The Bighorn National Forest is a key asset and contributor to our socio-economic strength. Photo here has Commissioners and USFS staff reviewing possible location options and distances for some of the dispersed camping issues. This field trip enables very clear communication and options as the USFS utilizes the commissioners as well as selected community stakeholders to bounce ideas. Anytime you can be on-site the issues get clearer.

Forward Sheridan welcomes Megan Crow PE to join our board of directors. We look forward to her participation and her insight into local development issues from her perch as both an engineering support and as a developer. Housing options and alternatives are big issues within our community.

Forward Sheridan convened folks for a meet and greet at the DSA conference room last night. Our key visitor was Deputy Regional Director for USFS Tammy Whittington and some of the Bighorn National Forest team to interact with folks from Sheridan and Johnson County. Simply this was a chance to get to know folks on a less formal level. FS recognizes that the Bighorn National Forest is a key factor in our socio economics as well as one of the distinct attributes that we have to offer. FS board members, Sheridan Commissioners and Mayor Roger Miller were some of the guests.
