Powder River Basin Trout Unlimited Northern Wyoming's Trout Unlimited Chapter LBHTU’s membership is made of women and men of a variety of ages and all walks
of life.

The combination of the diversity of the membership and the commonality
of interests is the strength of LBHTU. The members of LBHTU have joined and

It’s that time of year again! The Powder River Basin Trout Unlimited Chapter is hosting our Annual Banquet and Silent Auctions! This year’s event will be held at The Historic Sheridan Inn starting at 6PM on Saturday February 24th 2024.

We are pleased to have Anne Marie Emery, Director of the Bighorn River Alliance, as our featured speaker. Anne Marie brings her extensive experience on and with the Bighorn River to life in her presentation about the future of the famed river.

The evening will also features several sweepstakes and silent auctions. This year we have fly rods, reels, flies, wade and float trips available to bid on. We also have two original works of trout art from regional artist Molly Box or Prairie Creative Studios in Wellington, Colorado (www.prairiesagecreative.com). A buffet of barbeque pork and chicken from the talented chef at the Inn will complete the evening.

Young anglers will have a chance to try their luck at fishing and learn about the environment during Kids' Fishing Day. The event is hosted by the Bighorn National Forest and sponsored by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, local chapters of Powder River Basin Trout Unlimited and Backcountry H

Powder River Bason Trout Limited is partnering with the Frank Johnson Memorial Fly Fishers International Club to present a casting clinic on May 20, 2023 at the Mayfly Festival at Kendrick park. The beginners clinic will start at 9:00 and go till 10:30. The intermediate/advanced clinic will start at 10:45 and go till 12:15. Techniques learned in each clinic are detailed below.

Clinic #1 Beginner/intermediate level
Time: 9:00 to 10:30
Curriculum: demonstration and practice of Roll cast, Pickup and Laydown cast, false cast, shooting line and Belgian cast.

Clinic #2 Intermediate/advanced level
Time: 10:45 to 12:15
Curriculum: Demonstration and practice of roll cast, false cast and shooting line from dominant and off shoulder side with attention given to proper loop formation. Demonstration and practice of in air line mends, and the double haul.

Come join us for the Mayfly Festival. Saturday May 20th from 10-2 at Kendrick Park. The Mayfly Festival is brought to us by the Fly Shop of the Bighorns. We will be doing fish imprints, fly casting instructing, and talking about improving our local area cold water fisheries.

We had a wonderful evening. Thanks to the US Forest Service for being our keynote speaker at our annual banquet. Lots of great prizes were given out, and a lot of people shared common interests. The food at the Ramada by Wyndham was great too. Based on the turn out; we have a bright future ahead of us.

Powder River Basin Trout Unlimited (PRBTU) General Membership meeting, Thursday March 23rd 7PM at the Downtown Sheridan Association.

This meeting will discuss the upcoming Annual Meeting (April 29th) and Election of new Officers!

Our featured presentation will be “The Big Horn – Then and Now”. Bob Krumm will discuss his experiences guiding on the river the past 39 years; what the river was like and then and what the future holds for this nearby fishery. You will not want to miss this!
