We are so excited to see these Sensory Packs now available at the museum! 👏💙
A huge THANK YOU to Sheridan County Museum for taking meaningful steps to make the museum more inclusive and accessible for everyone in our community. Small changes like this can make a HUGE difference for individuals with sensory sensitivities and their families. 🧩✨
These sensory supports help create a welcoming environment where more children, teens, and adults can comfortably explore, learn, and enjoy everything the museum has to offer. That’s what true community inclusion looks like. 💙
We applaud the museum for recognizing the importance of accessibility for ALL visitors. 👏
In keeping the museum accessible to all we have taken another step.
The Museum now provides Sensory Packs for visitors to check out at the front desk while you visit the museum! Each pack includes noise-reducing headphones, weighted pads, light-reducing glasses, and multiple rubber textured sensory fidget items. Everything is stored in an easy-to-carry drawstring bag that you can take with you throughout your museum visit. You can call ahead to reserve or check them out at our front desk. Items are sanitized after each use.
Thank you to R.E.A.C.H. (Resources, Education, Autism, Community, Harmony) Sheridan for consultation to create the Museum’s Sensory Packs.
REACH Sheridan is committed to providing resources and education to individuals on the Autism Spectrum or who are neurodivergent, their families, and the Wyoming community to promote inclusion and understanding.
Thank you to Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) Great Plains Region for their generous support of the Sensory Packs.
