The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization. Focusing on service to veterans, servicemembers and communities, the Legion evolved from a group of war-weary veterans of World War I into one of the most influential nonprofit groups in the United States. Membership swiftly grew to over 1 million, and local posts sprang up across the country. Today, member

ship stands at over 2.4 million in 14,000 posts worldwide. The posts are organized into 55 departments: one each for the 50 states, along with the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, France, Mexico and the Philippines. Over the years, the Legion has influenced considerable social change in America, won hundreds of benefits for veterans and produced many important programs for children and youth.

We had originally had Mike Mullenax booked for tomorrow evening but unfortunately he and his family have all come down with a cold, but don't worry we still will have live music tomorrow evening provided by Daniel Frost, this will be his first time at the Legion so let's give him a warm welcome

It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of Pat Lawrence. He was a great man who gave alot to his Community. 15 years as Chief of the Sherburne Fire Department. Any Post Family members wishing to pay respects we will be meeting at the Post at 12:45 Saturday to go to calling hours at 1pm.

Any members wishing to pay respects to Pauline Shantal. Auxiliary member Katrina Thayers mom Calling hours are Thursday Feb 19th from 11 am to 1 pm Funeral 1 pm at the Burgess Tedesco Funeral Home in Morrisville NY. Celebration of life will be 3pm at the Sherburne American Legion Post 876.
