This past Saturday the Sherborn Police Association Local 158 had the pleasure of hosting our annual turkey dinner for our Seniors in town. It was great to finally get back to our in-person dinner for the first time in 3 years, it was amazing to see everyone together again! We had a great time serving everyone and making sure everyone left full and happy. We hope all those who came enjoyed themselves and those who couldn’t make it, can make it next year. We would like to thank the Pilgrim Church, Council on Aging and Tj’s Food & Spirits for all the help with making this day possible.

The Sherborn Police Department is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill an immediate and anticipated vacancy for the position of full-time Police Officer. The Town of Sherborn offers competitive pay to include education incentive ($15,000 for master’s degree & $10,000 for a bachelors), shift differential, a variety of stipends (body camera, EMT, specialty positions), longevity pay, and paid time off (holidays, personnel days, earned leave, vacation days, sick leave).

Congratulations Sergeant Godinho!

Today, Chief Galvin and the Select Board had the honor of promoting former Detective James Godinho to the rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant Godinho has been a member of the SPD since 2010 after transferring from the Brattleboro, VT Police Department where he previously worked for 3 years. During his tenure at the SPD, Sergeant Godinho has worked diligently within the detective bureau, taught numerous patrolmen as a Field Training Officer, successfully completed the prestigious FBI leadership course, and has served as the Vice-President to our local Police Union in addition to many more accomplishments and accolades.

The Sherborn Police Association would like to announce we will be hosting our 2nd annual golf tournament at Sandy Burr Country in Wayland, MA on Monday, June 27th. We are excited to see everyone and get out on the course and have some fun.
