What a wonderful opportunity to introduce our younger generations to Native American culture, traditions, and the importance of honoring those who came before us.

We are grateful for the patience, understanding, and continued support we've received following the postponement. So much heart has already gone into bringing this gathering together, and we're looking forward to continuing that work.

Three days of drumming, dancing, cultural sharing, community, remembrance, and honoring our veterans and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women.

TREA SHAY NORTHRUP WAS 19. HER LIFE MATTERED. PAY ATTENTION TODAY.

This morning, Not Our Native Daughters released a press statement with Treaโ€™s family announcing a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with her death, should a crime be established.

We sent the release to newsrooms, journalists, the Department of the Interiorโ€™s Missing and Murdered Unit, Department of Justice contacts and Nevada law enforcement because Treaโ€™s case deserves attention, answers and action. To our knowledge, not one news story has covered her death or her familyโ€™s appeal.

Trea died on August 2, 2026, in Winnemucca, Nevada. She was from the Fort McDermitt Paiute and Shoshone Tribe. Her family is asking investigators to keep the case open while outstanding questions and evidence are reviewed.

We are asking the people in our communities, journalists, influencers and advocates to help bring attention to Treaโ€™s case. Share her story. Share the press release. Help make sure her familyโ€™s call for justice is not ignored.

We are tired of commitments in meetings followed by silence when Native families need help. Treaโ€™s family deserves answers, action and the same urgency and diligence afforded to white families.

This is NONDโ€™s first MMIP reward, and we hope to offer more. To our knowledge, NOT ONE news story has covered Treaโ€™s case. That silence is unacceptable. Tips must go directly to law enforcement, and additional reward conditions apply.

Thank you to Chase Iron Eyes of the Lakota Law Project for helping advocate alongside this family.

Trea had gifts, talents and a future. Nothing can erase her familyโ€™s grief. But we can refuse to let her story disappear.

If you have information, contact Detective Cory Dunckhorst at 775-623-6429 and reference case 26-0832. Please respect the Northrup familyโ€™s privacy. Do not approach them with theories, rumors or questions about the case.

Please share this post and help spread Treaโ€™s case. You can find the full press release on our website. AT THE VERY LEAST, help us honor her life by making sure people know her name.

We know there have been some questions about the decision to postpone the Honor the Missing Pow Wow, and we wanted to share a little more about everything that went into this very difficult decision.

Rain and storms are currently in the forecast for portions of the weekend here in Shepherdsville.
And, there was much more that had to be considered.

A Pow Wow brings people together from many different places. We have drums, dancers, head staff, vendors, veterans, storytellers, and guests traveling from different states and across the region, some of them considerable distances.

As the weekend approached, weather conditions along some of those travel routes began creating concerns, and people who are an important part of making this gathering possible were beginning to reconsider their plans.

There are also people who planned to camp, vendors who need time to prepare and travel, food and supplies being coordinated, and countless other details happening behind the scenes, that the decision could not wait until the last minute.

So much time, work, heart, and preparation have gone into this weekend. No one wanted to see it postponed.

Ultimately, we felt it was better to wait until we can gather in the way this Pow Wow was intended, with the people who have worked, traveled, prepared, and committed to being part of it.

And so, we will wait. And trust.

When we gather in the spring, the drums will sound. The dancers will dance. We will honor our veterans. We will bring awareness to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. And together, we will Honor the Missing.

Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for the tremendous amount of support you have shown this gathering. โค๏ธ

It is with heavy hearts that we share that the Honor the Missing Pow Wow scheduled for October 2-4 will not take place this weekend due to the forecasted rain inclement weather. .

This was not an easy decision.
We know that people are traveling from many different places to join us. Dancers, drums, vendors, guests, and families have made plans, and many were preparing to camp for the weekend.
With so many people traveling and so much involved in preparing the grounds, this simply isn't a decision that can safely be made at the last minute.

We are already looking toward rescheduling the Honor the Missing Pow Wow for spring 2027. As soon as a new date is confirmed, we will share it here.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has put their time, energy, heart, resources, and support into bringing this gathering together.
And we are grateful to every person who was planning to join us.

The purpose behind this gathering has not changed.
We will gather.
We will honor the Missing.
We will honor our veterans.
The drums will still sound.

The drums will begin.
Dancers will enter the arena. Regalia will move with the rhythm. Songs will be carried. Veterans will be honored. Artists and vendors will fill the grounds with their work.
And people will gather.

Some will have been attending Pow Wows their entire lives. For others, this will be their very first.

Wherever you fall in that, you are invited to come with curiosity, respect, and a willingness to experience.

The Honor the Missing Pow Wow is an opportunity to experience living Native culture, but it is also a gathering with a purpose.

Throughout the weekend, we will remember Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and all those whose absence continues to be carried by their families and communities.

We will honor our veterans.

We will celebrate culture that continues to live, grow, and be carried forward.

And for three days, these grounds will become a place of drums, dancing, stories, food, art, remembrance, and community.

๐——๐—ถ๐—ฑ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ธ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜„?
At the center of a Pow Wow is the drum.

You may hear it before you see the dancers.
And you may feel it before you realize you're listening.

There is something ancient about gathering around a drum. For thousands of years, people across cultures have gathered around rhythm to celebrate, pray, grieve, heal, and connect.

Within many Native traditions, the drum carries deep cultural and spiritual significance. At a Pow Wow, it isn't simply music playing while the dancers dance.

The singers gather around it. Songs are carried through it. The dancers listen and respond to it.

For many Indigenous peoples, the beat of the drum is associated with the heartbeat of Mother Earth.

When you come to the Honor the Missing Pow Wow, I invite you to do more than hear the drum.

๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ป.

Notice what happens in your own body when the drum begins to fill the arena.

You don't have to understand everything you're hearing.
Sometimes the first invitation is simply to listen.
