On Saturday, April 25, the McMurran Scholars Association hosted a celebratory dinner honoring the 65th anniversary of the McMurran Scholars Award. Alumni, current inductees, and guests gathered for a festive cocktail hour followed by a delicious plated meal prepared by Shepherd Dining Services.

Guests commemorated the milestone with a group photo, and many also took the opportunity to pose with the portrait of Joseph P. McMurran, namesake of the award.

MSA committee members Berniece Collis ’77 and Brandy Stone ’15 welcomed attendees and shared the history of the organization and scholarship. The evening also raised funds for the McMurran Endowed Scholarship through a 50/50 raffle.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Cameron B. Wesson has been selected as Shepherd University’s 17th president.

Dr. Wesson brings more than three decades of experience in higher education, including significant leadership roles and a strong commitment to academic excellence, student success, and innovative growth. During the interview process, he engaged with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members, and we look forward to the energy and vision he will bring to the University.
