Volunteers hard at work today in Shenadoah getting ready for tomorrow's distribution.
Thanks to Mrs. T's, Souchuck Lumber, Sheetz, Helping Harvest and the many volunteers who assist in making the Food Bank an important part of the Schuylkill County community.
The Beverly Mattson Memorial Food Bank at 39 North White Street, Shenandoah will hold its regularly scheduled food distribution this Saturday, April 25th between 2pm-5pm. We will perform it the same way we did it last time with the drive thru. However, this time, we will serve the drivers at the opposite entrance to the walkers. We will not be down at the back of the building again. With that being said, the line for vehicles will go down Lloyd Street, turn right onto North Bower Street, turn right onto East Centre, then right onto North White Street.

Please respect the neighborhood and keep the line all the way to the right side next to the curb all the way around. We will have traffic control.

Just need your ID or something with your current Schuylkill county address on it.

We anticipate a great weekend of helping our neighbors with some foodstuffs. We're building new shelving units with the help of Mike Stinsky and awaiting a new freezer for a Thursday delivery. The pictures show an old unit and one of the new, stronger units. We'll be able to store over 2,000 lbs of frozen meat and over 14,000 lbs of non-perishables and with the generous help of Team Pierogy, the Beverly Mattson Memorial Food Bank will be able to help many more families in Shenadoah. Thanks for everyone's community support!

SHENANDOAH — Although the Beverly Mattson Memorial Food Bank provided free food on Saturday, it did so very differently than in the past. Despite the afternoon rain, people who waited in line for the food items did not have to worry about getting wet. Jus

The Beverly Mattson Memorial Food Bank located at 39 North White Street in Shenandoah will hold its monthly distribution this Saturday, March 28th from 2pm-5pm.

Please be advised that we will be doing the distribution a little different this month. If you have a vehicle, you will line up in your vehicle at the corner of Lloyd and Lehigh street. This is the back corner of the building and line up along Lloyd Street. We will come to your car window, have you show your ID, and give you a food box and you will drive away.

As for walkers, you can still line up where you normally line up and we will put a food box outside on a table. You will show your I.D., get your food box and go. No signing anything this time.

Also, at this time we are restricting the pantry to Schuylkill County residents only as we have a limited amount of food and will be open more in the month of April. We are only serving Schuylkill County residents in April.

There will be no pet food this month. We can’t get any at this time due to none being available.

Furthermore, while we are one of the few food pantries to provide 24/7 emergency food, we are temporarily suspending the 24/7 food emergency. We will be holding 2 food pantries in April. One on the 11th and the other on the 25th.

Also, at this time we are restricting the pantry to Schuylkill County residents only as we have a limited amount of food and will be open more in the month of April. We are only serving Schuylkill County residents in April.

Thank you for your understanding!
