PHOTOGRAPHERS UPDATE!

Last week "The Coop" suffered a partial collapse. We are working hard with the Borough, engineers and dedicated volunteers to re-open for sessions. However, we have no current timeline. At this time, we must cancel all April sessions. We will not be scheduling new sessions until further notice. Please check for updates in the coming weeks.

Dana Thomas is organizing this fundraiser to benefit JW Cooper Community Center in honor of Tedd Theodore Thomas.

As class president and valedictorian, Mr. Thomas graduated from J.W. Cooper High School Class of 1952. He continued his education at Princeton University where he earned Magna Cum Laude honors for his Bachelor’s degree in American Civilization in the ‘Great’ Class of 1956.

Having come from humble beginnings, Mr. Thomas’ Princeton experience was life-changing for him.

In his honor, we are raising funds to benefit the J.W. Cooper Community Center, a foundation to restore the High School Mr. Thomas attended, to be a mixed use building that features a community gymnasium, storefronts and office space for emerging, local businesses, and a theater. At this time it serves the needs of the public with monthly food distribution. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause to help his hometown.

WORKING TOGETHER TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY!

JW Cooper Community Center, also knows as the Beverly Mattson Memorial Food Bank, receives their Helping Harvest delivery on the first Thursday of the month. Their last delivery was not your typical delivery!

The sidewalks and ramps were covered in snow and in addition to those barriers, roadwork was also happening which prevented the Helping Harvest truck from using their normal route!

An hour before the truck was scheduled to arrive, the volunteers at JW Cooper bought bags of rock salt and began shoveling snow. Once the truck arrived, the volunteers quickly realized that the truck wasn't going to be able to deliver on the other alternative route as well and decided to switch gears! The volunteers talked to the construction workers and blocked the road, so the driver was able to deliver the items! The Helping Harvest truck driver and the volunteers at JW Cooper Community Center worked together to ensure their neighbors received food!

Still waiting for a new community center to open it's doors?

The "Coop" continues to serve the community as a Food Bank Distribution Center (feeding over 400 households per month), historical marker and hive for creatives!

Cool off at the Coop!
Come take some pictures and enjoy the unique lighting and cool inside temperatures that make this building worth the visit during the summer.
Take a "dip" in the pool, hang out in the gym or sit in my office.
Like the heat? We have that also. Visit some of our brightly lit upper classrooms.

We have expanded our sessions for the Summer because of the great response we have received. Sessions can now be scheduled for Monday, Wednesday afternoon, Saturday (except for food distribution days) and Sunday after 1pm.
